
Bureau Korevaar was founded in 2023 by Lies Korevaar (PhD).
Lies Korevaar was from June 2003 until October 2023 professor of Rehabilitation at the Hanze University Groningen. He is recognized as one of the pioneers in the field of Psychiatric/Psychosocial Rehabilitation in the Netherlands and an international expert in the field of Supported Education for (young) people with mental health problems.
He has been a consultant in Recovery Oriented Services in the Dutch Mental Health System for more than 20 years and he initiated the first university based Associated Degree for (ex)clients of Mental Health Services to become an Expert by Experience (Peer Support Provider) at the Hanze University Groningen.
Korevaar has authored and co-authored over 100 publications: several articles in peer reviewed and professional journals, four handbooks, more than 25 book chapters, a Supported Education Toolkit and several Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Supported Education training packages.
Before he became a professor at the Hanze University Groningen, Lies has worked for almost 25 years as a clinical psychologist in the field of Mental Health, with a speciality in Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Supported Education.
In 2019 Lies Korevaar has been voted Professor of the Year regarding student wellbeing by the Dutch National Students’ Association (DNSA) and ScienceGuide.
Bureau Korevaar provides Supported Education training, consultation and supervision in English based on experiences in Sweden, Italy, South Africa, Germany, Norway, Chech Republic, Portugal and the USA.
